Following on from my last post, here's my complete set of 4 Christmas covers. This includes the Deck the Halls  cover I uploaded a couple of weeks ago; a Radiohead inspired cover of We Three Kings; drum & bass and house influenced covers of Good King Wenceslas and Auld Lang Syne.

Not been the most productive month for me but I'm getting back on the horse! This weekend I've produced a new version of the McJazz track Fish Dance (see below). This version uses most of the ideas from the original with a few new chord sequences, beats and bass lines! I've also been working on a B-side to go with the upcoming single 2 Years, more on this soon!

As you can see I've updated my website, with a completely overhauled layout. Thanks to my dad at Davis Solutions for helping me in making this happen. You will notice a lot of new pages have been added to the site including pages dedicated to digital audio, projects I'm involved in, a new biography page and more. You can download the first two LoFi LP's from the downloads page as well.

I've been quite productive of late, as you will see from the previous news stories. I have also produced more tracks over the last couple of months for Android Boogie and I will be releasing a collection of tracks (hopefully) in the next few months. Conrad & I also have another LoFi project on the cards, so watch this space!

To celebrate the release of The Very Best of Mike Oldfield, Indaba Music are running a competition to remix Mike Oldfield's debut composition Tubular Bells. I decided to enter this competition with an ambient take on the original work. My remix uses bells, synth pads, natural(ish) sounding drums, plus period seventies bass and Fender Rhodes patches. Indaba provided the multitrack recordings of the original, but I opted not to use them. Instead I transcribed the motifs I wanted to use.

Click on the link below to have a listen to my remix. Hope you like and recognise some parts from the original. If you do like the track please vote for it; you will need a Facebook or Indaba music account to vote.

During the summer I’ve been remixing an awesome dubstep number by Scuttle (a.k.a. Tim Bowman) called Acid. I went to uni with Tim; he’s an awesome guitarist and is rapidly becoming a dubstep and electronic music guru.

Tim was kind enough to send me the multi-track for Acid straight out of his sequencer. In this ditty I’ve taken Scuttle’s original melodic motif and put in under different chord sequences, with crazy changes in instrumentation, drum beats and styles underneath. I’ve tried to go with an approach en par with The Flashbulb or Aphex Twin; to keep it changing and therefore keep listener interest. Anyways, here it is!

Acid (Android Boogie Mix) is also available to save onto your computer on my downloads page.

... and Android Boogie was born!
Over the last few months I've been struggling to think or a musical alias for tracks I've been writing. I have finally settled on Android Boogie, to describe the glitchy, computerised nature of my tracks. This will also be the name for an LP of approximately 15 tracks.
